German Propaganda

Porsche and It's fans claim the shape of the 911 Carrera is timeless and classic. One can't argue about the fact that the look is timeless, but then the toilet and beach sand is pretty timeless too.

It's not just Porsche who is sticking to this theme, quite paradoxically the Porsche tuners seem to have fallen in a similar rut. Sure they swap out a few parts, but when you line them all up they all kind of look the same.

At the same time I'm thinking that this might all be an approach to marketing the 911 and actually, it works. Everyone knows how a Porsche 911 Carrera looks. Oh boy I believe Germans are getting better at this, their propaganda is now worldwide.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and here are a few. Similar looking cars but pretty cool wallpapers.

A standard 997 Turbo.

Gemballa's GTR 650 based on the 997 Turbo.

Techart's 997 Turbo conversion.

Rinspeed's 600hp "Le Mans" edition 997 Turbo.

The 997 Turbo from Sportec.

And finally Hamann's 630hp "Stallion" 997 Turbo. They got creative with the doors and an air scoop on the roof.

See what I mean?
