Bleu Bugatti

The Bugatti Bleu Centeaire.
A(nother) special edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4. It is finished in Bugatti Blue and instead of having the usual two tone colour format, it's the finish of the paint which gives a two tone effect. The bonnet and roof are finished in gloss while the sides of the car are finished in matte.

Otherwise there aren't any major changes. The interior gets a special Snow Beige leather with a quilted pattern and the car has all the options fitted as standard, like parking sensors and a reverse camera.

These changes are small, but the cred Bugatti gives this edition is sure to make it a super collectible car.

The price? Well nobody, except the owner and Bugatti themselves, actually knows what it's worth. What I do know is that it will be more than a "normal" Veyron, which is enough to make grown men weep.
The pictures are free though.

I like your flavour. Continental GT.

Project Kahn seems to be getting something right. Their 599 look's great and this, their Bentley Continental "GTS", is another prime example of their approach. "Not too flashy, but different" is what I imagine the lead designer would say.

It started life as a normal Continental, but received front and rear spoilers, a side sill, boot spoiler, a new exhaust and a great set of Kahn wheels. Other options include an endless list of interior bits and pieces.

They don't list the price, which implies that if you have to ask you probably can't afford it.

"New" C63 AMG?

After BMW launched the first E30 M3 in the 1986 and since then Audi and Mercedes have been playing catch-up in the "fastest small sedan" game. Audi finally caught up with the last RS4, offering a mad V8, a more manageable AWD system and an Avant RS4 to the range which meant that the RS4 would drop the E46 M3 at the lights with a washing machine in the boot.

Mercedes upped their game and shoved the 5.5 Liter supercharged lump from the E55 AMG into the C-class, but the car didn't have the dynamics of the RS4 and the M3. BMW was next in line and rocked the scene with the E92 M3 Coupe. The high revving V8 and amazing dynamics meant it was faster around the track than the Audi and it reclaimed the crown.

It wasn't long before Mercedes raised the bar with their C63 AMG. The ludicrous 6.2 AMG V8 made 450bhp and the guys at AMG upped the chassis and suspension so that it was basically as fast as the current M3.

So where am I going with this history lecture?

Well, history would suggest that it's Audi's turn for the next best car, but Mercedes has revealed their "New" C63. So what's the news? A V12? 500bhp? A car which can do backflips? Not quite. Same engine, same chassis, just a new nose job and different axles with a few new electronic aids from its big brothers.

I think Mercedes is trying to sell as many C63's as it can before Audi releases its RS4, which they will when they stop playing with the R8.

So if you're burning to buy the new C63, well don't. At least not until Audi plays it's next card which, if the RS5 is anything to go on, will be epic.

Here's the "New" C63 after visiting the plastics division of Mercedes' design studio.

The nice 1.

So if you saw the new 1 Series today and gagged, don't worry there is hope. The 1 Series M is also out and it looks a LOT better than is baby brother. Oh yes and it has 335bhp (250kw) thanks to the turbocharged inline 6 and comes with a, manual only, 6 speed close ratio box and s LSD, not the psychedelic type.

At $47K It isn't cheap, but, other than talk, what is.

GT3 SLS.

SLS GT3.

No words.

BM(Wow)

A special car for this beautiful Sunday.

BMW has been allowing artists to go mad on their cars since 1975. The latest, 17th, edition to the collection is a M3 GT2. The car actually raced in the 24 hours of Le Mans but did not finish. It was commissioned and 'transformed' in 2010 by Jeff Koons.

What would you do for one of these in your garage?

German Propaganda

Porsche and It's fans claim the shape of the 911 Carrera is timeless and classic. One can't argue about the fact that the look is timeless, but then the toilet and beach sand is pretty timeless too.

It's not just Porsche who is sticking to this theme, quite paradoxically the Porsche tuners seem to have fallen in a similar rut. Sure they swap out a few parts, but when you line them all up they all kind of look the same.

At the same time I'm thinking that this might all be an approach to marketing the 911 and actually, it works. Everyone knows how a Porsche 911 Carrera looks. Oh boy I believe Germans are getting better at this, their propaganda is now worldwide.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and here are a few. Similar looking cars but pretty cool wallpapers.

A standard 997 Turbo.

Gemballa's GTR 650 based on the 997 Turbo.

Techart's 997 Turbo conversion.

Rinspeed's 600hp "Le Mans" edition 997 Turbo.

The 997 Turbo from Sportec.

And finally Hamann's 630hp "Stallion" 997 Turbo. They got creative with the doors and an air scoop on the roof.

See what I mean?

I like your flavour

These Project Kahn wheels work on this 599.
A rare instance where a tuner provides a decent alternative to having a (dare I say it) standard 599.

Miscellaneous Greatness.

Great pictures of cars of epic proportions.

The Lancia 037 doing what seems to be a rally start in soft sand.
A Jaguar D-type and an E-type in the same photo.
A twin turbo F40 in action at a hill climb event.

I do not take responsibility for any spilled coffee or drool damage to computers, phones or Ipads.

Enjoy.
